Abidlik

Abidlik

The ancient name of the Obidlik was Obrlig. In the years 1919-1952 madrasahs functioned in Obidlik. There were 50 students studying at (each) madrasah. There were about 24 Masjids here - this speaks of the mana of this pilgrimage place. The borders passed from the village of Ertash to the village of Kayirma. Bolshevism, following Marxist doctrines and relying on the state mechanism of terror of the 1920-1930s, unleashed a large-scale war against Islam. As a result of this war, many religious leaders, many Sufi sheikhs, theologians and ordinary believers were repressed, thousands of mosques were destroyed, Muslim theological schools (madrasahs), etc. were closed. As a result, sacred places that have been valued by the Uzbek people for centuries have lost their historical appearance and were abandoned, and some places of pilgrimage were destroyed.
